The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Kingsley Suamataia, the No. 70 name on the board, sitting there at slot 186 like a gift left on the doorstep.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Every board in the league had Davis lower, and that gap is the story. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
