Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall

FutureC
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Dolphins and Williams: C. Somebody took the Dolphins to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Williams falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Hit on T.J. Tampa and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick36
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
No edge and no loss on T.J. Tampa in pick 36; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick53
Rnd2
Patrick Paul
Nothing to complain about; Patrick Paul went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick67
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in slot 67 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick69
Rnd3
Brandon Dorlus
Brandon Dorlus at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick71
Rnd3
Johnny Wilson
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Johnny Wilson. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick90
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
Value with a capital V on Christian Mahogany in Round 3, Pick 27, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick101
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis in pick No. 101 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick139
Rnd5
Cole Bishop
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cole Bishop at the Round 5 slot. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick155
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Cam Hart is a better player than pick 155 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick186
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
Fair-plus on Jaylan Ford, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick199
Rnd6
Javon Baker
A tidy bit of business in the 199th overall pick, where Javon Baker graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick239
Rnd7
Miyan Williams
Circle this one: Miyan Williams at No. 239 is a fall that decides a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
