FutureA+
The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Daniels: D+. The Bears lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.
They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
They are betting Limmer proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Getting Nubin where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the 6th pick they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9
Rnd1
Laiatu Latu
In the 9th overall pick they get a problem off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Nubin at pick 39 is the proof. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick47
Rnd2
Patrick Paul
They paid sticker price for Patrick Paul in pick No. 47, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick52
Rnd2
Ja'Tavion Sanders
No edge and no loss on Ja'Tavion Sanders in slot 52; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in Round 3, Pick 11 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick111
Rnd4
Malik Washington
Malik Washington at No. 111 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120
Rnd4
Max Melton
Max Melton at the Round 4 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick121
Rnd4
MarShawn Lloyd
They jumped the gun on MarShawn Lloyd, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick123
Rnd4
Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer in the 123rd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick143
Rnd5
Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at the 143rd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
