McCarthy is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: C. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A weekend of give and take that grades a C.
They are betting McCaffrey proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Landing Thomas Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
