The Bears fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Wilson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Tua Tagovailoa deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In the end it comes back to Rome Odunze, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In slot 9 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A real need, handled.
Pick21
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick55
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
A tidy bit of business in the 55th pick, where Payton Wilson graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
