Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks cashed the board's mistake on Warren: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Tyler Warren got past him. The Seahawks do not have to explain a thing at No. 50.

The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Lampkin to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In slot 18 they get a sticky cover corner. More want than need.
Pick50 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick52 Rnd2 Bradyn Swinson
They paid sticker price for Bradyn Swinson in pick 52, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick82 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
A straight-up fair deal on Danny Stutsman at the 82nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92 Rnd3 Quinn Ewers
By-the-book stuff, Quinn Ewers at pick No. 92 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick137 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malachi Moore. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick172 Rnd5 Willie Lampkin
They jumped the gun on Willie Lampkin, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Jalen Rivers
Jalen Rivers slid further than he should have, and No. 175 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick223 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
Nothing to complain about; Kyle Monangai went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick234 Rnd7 Howard Cross III
A clean, defensible pick in Round 7, Pick 18 with a little surplus value in Howard Cross III. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
