You build a draft on nights like this. Will Echoles had no business being available in No. 62, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.

With running back and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. They are betting Ibirogba proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
