Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B
ValueA

FutureB-
Grand theft in the 239th pick: the Bears steal McCoy and grade out a B. You could see the war room lean forward. Jermod McCoy at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the defensive front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick57
Rnd2
David Bailey
Steal is underselling it; David Bailey at Round 2, Pick 25 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick89
Rnd3
Sonny Styles
They barely believed it either: Sonny Styles still on the board at the 89th overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick129
Rnd4
Spencer Fano
Spencer Fano in No. 129 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick163
Rnd5
Michael Taaffe
Somehow Michael Taaffe was still sitting there in pick No. 163, and they pounced on premier safety value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick239
Rnd7
Jermod McCoy
You do not let a cornerback like Jermod McCoy reach slot 239 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick241
Rnd7
Bud Clark
They robbed the room for Bud Clark here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
