The tape said wait; the Texans did not. KeAndre Lambert-Smith went at the Round 3 slot, a good 109 picks before the board was ready. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
