The tape said wait; the Texans did not. Jordan Hall went at the Round 7 slot, a good 44 picks before the board was ready.

The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Slaughter pick is the receipt they will wave around later. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
