No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the 49ers.

Everything else got attention, and wide receiver got none. That is a strange way for the 49ers to leave a draft. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Reaching for Parker II left real value on the table behind him. Thomas falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

In pick No. 27 they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58 Rnd2 Brian Parker II
They paid up for Brian Parker II at the Round 2 slot when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick92 Rnd3 Joe Royer
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Joe Royer. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

They took Logan Jones at par in the 127th pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
