The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Savion Williams fell into pick No. 144. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. If Wester pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
