The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bengals spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

They are betting Birchmeier proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
