Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
The Bears robbed the room for Castro. Final grade: B-. Thirty-one other rooms let Sebastian Castro slide, and the Bears were the ones holding the card at the 148th overall pick. Highway robbery. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Ouzts has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Matthew Golden
In the 10th pick they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick41
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
They let Omarion Hampton come to them and pounced at slot 41. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick72
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger at No. 72 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick148
Rnd5
Sebastian Castro
A safety of that caliber at pick 148 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick233
Rnd7
John Williams
A big swing on John Williams at pick No. 233, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick240
Rnd7
Robbie Ouzts
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Robbie Ouzts well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
