Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Bears a B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bears were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

They are betting Williams proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Emmanwori pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in the 12th pick with a little surplus value in Kelvin Banks Jr.. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick39 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at Round 2, Pick 7 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick41 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
The board had cheaper options than Donovan Ezeiruaku at slot 41, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick72 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Quinshon Judkins in pick No. 72. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick76 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
A straight-up fair deal on Mason Taylor at pick 76, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick148 Rnd5 Jackson Slater
Jackson Slater at No. 148 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick149 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant in the 149th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick233 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
They paid a round early for Teddye Buchanan in the Round 7 slot, more than the board wanted. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick240 Rnd7 John Williams
John Williams in Round 7, Pick 24 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
