Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B- to prove it.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Bills walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

The Jackson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Muasau pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Xavier Legette
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
A straight-up fair deal on Zach Frazier at the 60th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick99 Rnd3 McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 36 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick128 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
A tidy bit of business in pick 128, where Sataoa Laumea graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick162 Rnd5 Cedric Johnson
Cedric Johnson at No. 162 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165 Rnd5 Jaylan Ford
The board had cheaper options than Jaylan Ford at pick No. 165, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick197 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
They did well to land Jaylen Harrell in the 197th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee is a better player than slot 202 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick206 Rnd6 Darius Muasau
Darius Muasau in No. 206 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick249 Rnd7 Nick Andersen
A reach for Nick Andersen in the 249th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
