Joe1909 DRAFTING FOR THEBills
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bills won the night they stopped Winston Jr. from sliding. Grade: B. Somebody in pick 131 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bills sat still while Kevin Winston Jr., the No. 104 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In slot 30 they get a ballhawk on the back end, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick56
Rnd2
Trey Amos
Nothing to complain about; Trey Amos went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick62
Rnd2
Bradyn Swinson
By-the-book stuff, Bradyn Swinson at pick No. 62 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick108
Rnd4
Savion Williams
The board had Savion Williams higher than No. 108, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick131
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
A safety of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 30 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick171
Rnd5
Ty Robinson
No edge and no loss on Ty Robinson in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick175
Rnd5
Nick Nash
Circle this one: Nick Nash at pick 175 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick179
Rnd6
Raheim Sanders
They robbed the room for Raheim Sanders here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Pick206
Rnd6
Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at pick No. 206 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick208
Rnd6
Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at Round 6, Pick 30 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
