Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Bills turned the phones into found money: B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bills were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

However the rest shakes out, Anderson at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Talanoa Hufanga gives the group a proven body among the projects.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Makai Lemon
In slot 20 they get a No. 1 receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick56 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dillon Thieneman. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick87 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy is a better player than pick No. 87 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
A tidy little value on Eli Stowers in No. 88, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick122 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
Value with a capital V on D'Angelo Ponds in Round 4, Pick 22, a genuine coup. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick162 Rnd5 Nic Anderson
A quiet steal in the 162nd overall pick: Nic Anderson for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick218 Rnd7 Amare Campbell
They paid sticker price for Amare Campbell in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick229 Rnd7 Barion Brown
No drama and no debate, Barion Brown went about where he belonged in the 229th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
