Best value of the weekend goes to the Panthers for Hart: B-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Cam Hart, the No. 133 name on the board, stolen at the Round 5 slot.
If Eboigbe pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Graham Barton
Graham Barton at No. 33 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick65
Rnd3
Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard at pick No. 65 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick101
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
Value said wait; Justin Eboigbe in Round 4, Pick 1 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick168
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Steal is underselling it; Cam Hart at slot 168 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick180
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
A tidy little value on Jaylan Ford in the 180th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick222
Rnd7
Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at the 222nd pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
