Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B
ValueA

FutureA+
The Giants let Bailey fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Somebody in slot 243 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while David Bailey, the No. 138 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The veteran additions, Tyler Guyton chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick66
Rnd3
Jihaad Campbell
Circle this one: Jihaad Campbell at the 66th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick74
Rnd3
Bradyn Swinson
You do not let an edge rusher like Bradyn Swinson reach pick No. 74 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick81
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
They did well to land Gunnar Helm in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick118
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in Round 4, Pick 17 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick134
Rnd4
Elic Ayomanor
They barely believed it either: Elic Ayomanor still on the board at pick 134. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick159
Rnd5
Mason Taylor
Taking Mason Taylor in slot 159 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick170
Rnd5
Jordan Burch
Somehow Jordan Burch was still sitting there in No. 170, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick218
Rnd7
Jake Slaughter
The board fumbled Jake Slaughter all the way to the 218th pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick243
Rnd7
David Bailey
A linebacker of that caliber at the 243rd pick is the definition of value, full stop. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick245
Rnd7
Kaden Prather
A straight-up fair deal on Kaden Prather at pick No. 245, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick256
Rnd7
Jordan White
The board had Jordan White higher than the Round 7 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
