Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureA+
The Jaguars let Higgins fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

The Jaguars lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Landing Higgins that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Every board in the league had Jackson lower, and that gap is the story.

They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
A quiet steal in the 33rd pick: Tyler Warren for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
Pick36 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kenneth Grant at Round 2, Pick 4. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick67 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at slot 67 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in No. 70 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at pick 88 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick94 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jake Majors
A tidy little value on Jake Majors in the 107th pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick126 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Hollin Pierce in the Round 4 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
