Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB+ FutureA+
Grand theft in No. 126: the Jaguars steal Skattebo and grade out a B+.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Cam Skattebo, No. 126, roughly 27 picks past where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Antonio Hamilton Sr. deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. Every board in the league had Mills lower, and that gap is the story.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
A straight-up fair deal on Kenneth Grant at the Round 1 slot, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick36 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
By-the-book stuff, Tyler Booker at No. 36 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick70 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
They took Isaiah Bond at par in pick 70, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick76 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
No edge and no loss on Donovan Jackson in Round 3, Pick 12; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick88 Rnd3 Darien Porter
They let Darien Porter come to them and pounced at the 88th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick107 Rnd4 Ozzy Trapilo
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 107 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117 Rnd4 Rylie Mills
They jumped the gun on Rylie Mills, taking him earlier than his grade liked. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
They barely believed it either: Cam Skattebo still on the board at slot 126. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
