The Jaguars let Skattebo fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at No. 125 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Grant to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a wrecking ball inside, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
No edge and no loss on Tyler Booker in No. 36; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick70 Rnd3 Tre Harris
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tre Harris in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick76 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
They took Mason Taylor at par in the 76th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in pick 88 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick106 Rnd4 Savion Williams
Savion Williams is a better player than pick No. 106 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick125 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Somehow Cam Skattebo was still sitting there in the 125th pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
