Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedA- TradesD FutureA
The Jaguars cashed the board's mistake on Emmanwori: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Nick Emmanwori, the No. 20 name on the board, stolen at the 56th overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In No. 30 they get an anchor for the defensive front, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
No edge and no loss on Tyler Booker in Round 2, Pick 4; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick56 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Somehow Nick Emmanwori was still sitting there in pick 56, and they pounced on premier safety value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick62 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
They did well to land Azareye'h Thomas in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in slot 70 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88 Rnd3 Elic Ayomanor
Taking Elic Ayomanor in the 88th pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick106 Rnd4 Charles Grant
Charles Grant slipping to the 106th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick125 Rnd4 Savion Williams
They barely believed it either: Savion Williams still on the board at pick No. 125. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
