The Bears looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 20th overall pick regardless, 31 picks early.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The whole projection now runs through J.J. McCarthy; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Spending an early pick on safety with interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
