The Commanders found their guy under center in McCarthy: A-.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Commanders committed. J.J. McCarthy is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Rosengarten value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They will need McCarthy to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In the end it comes back to J.J. McCarthy, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
