FutureA+
Nobody dealt better than the Panthers this weekend: A-. The Panthers spent real capital to be 74 picks early on Caleb Murphy, and the board is going to hold them to it. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The James steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
In pick No. 13 they get a seam-stretching tight end. A real need, handled.
Pick56
Rnd2
Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker at the 56th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick126
Rnd4
DJ James
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and DJ James at Round 4, Pick 26 is the proof. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick220
Rnd6
Caleb Murphy
This one needs a full-page explanation: Caleb Murphy in the Round 6 slot, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
