Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall

FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Cardinals this weekend: B+. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Cardinals were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Every board in the league had Milton III lower, and that gap is the story.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick35
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at pick 35 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick66
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran in No. 66 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick71
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
They paid sticker price for Ja'Lynn Polk in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick90
Rnd3
Gabriel Murphy
No edge and no loss on Gabriel Murphy in Round 3, Pick 27; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick104
Rnd4
Audric Estime
A straight-up fair deal on Audric Estime at the 104th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick135
Rnd4
Beau Brade
Beau Brade in slot 135 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick162
Rnd5
AJ Barner
By-the-book stuff, AJ Barner at the 162nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick177
Rnd6
Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper in pick No. 177 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick186
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
A reach on Joe Milton III in the 186th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
