The board owed the Bengals one, and it paid up: JC Latham, the No. 18 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 49 like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B.

If Mettauer pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
