Jam2113 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Seahawks: B-. The Seahawks clearly saw something nobody else did in Carson Steele, taking him 23 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Getting Bullock where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. With edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on S-EDGE is the choice that costs them.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick36
Rnd2
J.J. McCarthy
They paid a round early for J.J. McCarthy in Round 2, Pick 4, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick67
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock in slot 67 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick78
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
They paid sticker price for Cooper Beebe in the 78th pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick81
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Fair-plus on Junior Colson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick100
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
They took Khyree Jackson at par in the 100th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick118
Rnd4
Jalyx Hunt
A surprising call. With edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots still to address, they spent No. 118 on Jalyx Hunt, a S-EDGE they were not short of.
Pick154
Rnd5
Edefuan Ulofoshio
By-the-book stuff, Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick194
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
The board had cheaper options than Jared Wiley at slot 194, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick236
Rnd7
Carson Steele
Carson Steele at the 236th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
