A franchise passer in McCarthy headlines a D weekend for the Bears.

Nobody else had Mohamed Kamara anywhere near pick No. 94. The Bears did, by 36 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

They have staked the next five years on J.J. McCarthy, which is the only story that really matters here. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Coleman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
