The Saints did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Deontae Lawson fell into the 185th overall pick.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
