Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall C+
ValueD NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Some hits, some head-scratchers, and a C+ for the Raiders.

The Raiders torched the value chart for Joey Slackman, taking him 141 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

Getting Emmanwori where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III at slot 6 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick37 Rnd2 Denzel Burke
A wild overpay on Denzel Burke in the 37th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kaleb Johnson
You do not let a running back like Kaleb Johnson reach No. 68 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick108 Rnd4 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick 108 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick143 Rnd5 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson this early at Round 5, Pick 5. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick180 Rnd6 Donovan Smith
A big swing on Donovan Smith at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
Pick213 Rnd6 Andrew Armstrong
They reached into another round for Andrew Armstrong, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick215 Rnd6 Joey Slackman
Joey Slackman at slot 215 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick222 Rnd7 Jacory Croskey-Merritt
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jacory Croskey-Merritt. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
