Draft Grade — Colts
Overall
C+
ValueC+
NeedB-

FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Colts: C+. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Colts would have aced it. Deshawn Pace at Round 6, Pick 13 is 245 spots clear of where he belonged. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.
The Fannin Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
If Will Johnson and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In pick 10 they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
Pick80
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
Somehow Harold Fannin Jr. was still sitting there in the 80th pick, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick117
Rnd4
Kobe King
The board had cheaper options than Kobe King at slot 117, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick151
Rnd5
Woody Marks
Woody Marks at No. 151 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189
Rnd6
Deshawn Pace
A big swing on Deshawn Pace at the 189th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It adds depth where they could use a little.
