FutureA+
The Bears won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-. Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
They are betting Jenkins proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Bottom line, with Malik Nabers leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In No. 4 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick31
Rnd1
Kris Jenkins
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jack Sawyer
Jack Sawyer at Round 3, Pick 1 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick78
Rnd3
Dontay Corleone
A slide stopped in the 78th overall pick, with Dontay Corleone worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick104
Rnd4
Tory Horton
Tory Horton at slot 104 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick114
Rnd4
Shilo Sanders
They took Shilo Sanders at par in the 114th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick132
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Value with a capital V on Khyree Jackson in pick No. 132, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick141
Rnd5
Darius Robinson
They paid sticker price for Darius Robinson in pick 141, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick151
Rnd5
Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick180
Rnd6
Moose Muhammad III
Moose Muhammad III at pick No. 180 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick182
Rnd6
Cam Hart
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cam Hart. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick225
Rnd7
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander in Round 7, Pick 5 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick251
Rnd7
Taulia Tagovailoa
By-the-book stuff, Taulia Tagovailoa at the 251st overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
