Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
The Packers won the night they stopped Hadden from sliding. Grade: B-. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Kamal Hadden, the 202nd overall pick, roughly 35 picks past where he belonged. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick51
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at pick No. 51 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
Pick58
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
No drama and no debate, Payton Wilson went about where he belonged in the 58th pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick84
Rnd3
Renardo Green
Good price on Renardo Green in the 84th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick88
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni in slot 88 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick91
Rnd3
Trey Benson
Trey Benson in No. 91 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick126
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
Nothing to complain about; Tyler Davis went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick169
Rnd5
Walter Rouse
A reasonable price with a little left over, Walter Rouse in the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick202
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
Steal is underselling it; Kamal Hadden at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick219
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford slid further than he should have, and pick 219 is lovely value for the linebacker. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick245
Rnd7
Trevin Wallace
They let Trevin Wallace come to them and pounced at slot 245. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jordan Whittington
Jordan Whittington at the 255th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
