Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA+
Maye is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a C.

The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The veteran additions, Chase Young chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

If Drake Maye and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In pick No. 2 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 9 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
They took Kris Jenkins at par in the 43rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick75 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
No drama and no debate, Cooper Beebe went about where he belonged in the 75th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick110 Rnd4 Dominick Puni
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 10 with a little surplus value in Dominick Puni. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick127 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
A tidy little value on Jarrian Jones in the Round 4 slot, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick146 Rnd5 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in slot 146 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick181 Rnd6 Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett in No. 181 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick186 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor in the 186th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick232 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson in No. 232 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
