Draft Grade — Jets
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The phones sank the Jets this weekend: D+.

Somebody took the Jets to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Harrell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 10th overall pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick72 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in pick No. 72 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick100 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
No edge and no loss on Blake Fisher in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick102 Rnd4 Leonard Taylor III
They paid up for Leonard Taylor III at Round 4, Pick 2 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick111 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea in slot 111 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick141 Rnd5 Jaheim Bell
No drama and no debate, Jaheim Bell went about where he belonged in No. 141. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick147 Rnd5 Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent at pick 147 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick187 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
A reach on Jaylen Harrell in the 187th pick; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick229 Rnd7 Darius Muasau
Nothing to complain about; Darius Muasau went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick255 Rnd7 Trey Wedig
A premium they did not need to pay, Trey Wedig a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick256 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
A conviction pick on Tanner McLachlan at the 256th pick that the board grades a round light. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
