nflplaymakerz DRAFTING FOR THEJets

Draft Grade — Jets

The Jets did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. Every other box got a look, but quarterback did not. The Jets will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Loveland. Longerbeam has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In the 7th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Pick42
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
A quiet steal in slot 42: Colston Loveland for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick73
Rnd3
Jack Bech
Jack Bech at pick 73 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Value with a capital V on Kevin Winston Jr. in No. 110, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick145
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
A tidy little value on Malachi Moore in pick No. 145, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick162
Rnd5
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland in the 162nd overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick186
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
Fair-plus on Jack Kiser, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick207
Rnd6
Robert Longerbeam
A reach for Robert Longerbeam in Round 6, Pick 31; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
