The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Jets watched Kaden Wetjen slide 21 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Jets indulged a want in Rodriguez while a need in edge rusher stayed open. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
