Nobody had Dont'e Thornton Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Jets reached 23 spots to get him at the 162nd pick.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Pegues pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
