Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Jets a B-.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Jets never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.

Riley falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
They took Kelvin Banks Jr. at par in pick 7, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick42 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at the 42nd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick73 Rnd3 Elic Ayomanor
Good price on Elic Ayomanor in the Round 3 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick110 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
A reasonable price with a little left over, Lathan Ransom in Round 4, Pick 8. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick145 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans at pick No. 145 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick162 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
Value with a capital V on Quincy Riley in the 162nd overall pick, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick186 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dont'e Thornton Jr.. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick207 Rnd6 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
A clean, defensible pick in slot 207 with a little surplus value in Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson. A need, and now a little less of one.
