A franchise passer in Simpson headlines a B weekend for the Jets. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Jets spent their marquee pick on Ty Simpson, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Young has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Ty Simpson
In the 3rd pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
CJ Allen
CJ Allen in pick 35 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick46
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt at No. 46 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick48
Rnd2
Zion Young
Zion Young at pick No. 48 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
