Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Jets: B-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Jalon Daniels; the Jets did not wait, grabbing him 46 spots ahead at pick No. 177. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

That Altmyer pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Jordyn Tyson
In pick 7 they get a difference-maker at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick23 Rnd1 Mansoor Delane
Mansoor Delane in the 23rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick38 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
They went early on Olaivavega Ioane in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick48 Rnd2 Domonique Orange
They reached a country mile for Domonique Orange at No. 48, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick108 Rnd4 Harold Perkins Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Harold Perkins Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick177 Rnd5 Jalon Daniels
A wild overpay on Jalon Daniels in the 177th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick198 Rnd6 Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick201 Rnd6 Drayk Bowen
A real head-scratcher, Drayk Bowen in the 201st overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick211 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Trey Zuhn III well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
Pick216 Rnd7 Roderick Kearney
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Roderick Kearney. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick236 Rnd7 Conner Weigman
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 236 with a little surplus value in Conner Weigman. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick254 Rnd7 Luke Altmyer
They will replay Luke Altmyer at No. 254 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick256 Rnd7 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander in Round 7, Pick 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
