Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-

The Jets let Ransom fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Lathan Ransom, the No. 107 name on the board, stolen at No. 145.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. If McCord pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Job largely done: quarterback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In pick 7 they get a security blanket over the middle, reach and all. More want than need.
Pick42 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in the 42nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick73 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Nothing to complain about; Jayden Higgins went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick110 Rnd4 Kyle McCord
They liked Kyle McCord enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 110. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick145 Rnd5 Lathan Ransom
Circle this one: Lathan Ransom at No. 145 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick162 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Somehow Logan Brown was still sitting there in the 162nd pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick186 Rnd6 Cobee Bryant
They let Cobee Bryant come to them and pounced at pick No. 186. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick207 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams is a better player than the Round 6 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
