The Jets left with their quarterback, and a D- to match. The board owed the Jets one, and it paid up: Wyatt Milum, the No. 13 name on the board, sitting there at slot 206 like a gift left on the doorstep.
So much rides on Cam Ward that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In slot 1 they get a franchise quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick5
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In Round 1, Pick 5 they get a true top target at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick158
Rnd5
Jahdae Barron
Somehow Jahdae Barron was still sitting there in the 158th pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206
Rnd6
Wyatt Milum
They robbed the room for Wyatt Milum here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
