More right than wrong for the Jets, and a B- to prove it. The Jets spent real capital to be 30 picks early on Blake Watson, and the board is going to hold them to it. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Proctor at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick72
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Fair-plus on Christian Haynes, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick90
Rnd3
Javon Baker
Javon Baker in pick No. 90 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick135
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
They paid sticker price for Roger Rosengarten in slot 135, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick256
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor slid further than he should have, and Round 7, Pick 36 is lovely value for the safety. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick257
Rnd7
Blake Watson
Blake Watson at No. 257 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
