Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Manning is the Jets' new face under center. Grade: B.

Start where it matters. The Jets took Arch Manning to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

Arnold at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Perkins Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Arch Manning
In slot 4 they get a passer to set the clock by. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jeremiyah Love
You do not let a running back like Jeremiyah Love reach the 36th overall pick and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
Pick68 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Harold Perkins Jr. this early at the Round 3 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick104 Rnd4 Sonny Styles
They took Sonny Styles at par in Round 4, Pick 2, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick139 Rnd5 Connor Tollison
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Connor Tollison. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick143 Rnd5 Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis is a better player than the 143rd pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick182 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 182 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick197 Rnd6 Jackson Arnold
Somehow Jackson Arnold was still sitting there in No. 197, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick210 Rnd6 Nic Anderson
Nic Anderson in the Round 6 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick251 Rnd7 Gentry Williams
Gentry Williams in No. 251 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick253 Rnd7 Ayden Williams
A big swing on Ayden Williams at pick 253, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
