A costly weekend of dealing drags the Jets to a D.

The Jets put a flag in the ground for Drew Allar, 100 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. With safety, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. The Scott pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and safety is still a hole.
