Draft Grade — Jets
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Jets robbed the room for Presley. Final grade: A-.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Jets were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

The Presley steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

The veteran additions, Josh Downs chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. They will need Hemingway to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In the end it comes back to Isaiah Bond, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Isaiah Bond
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. at No. 35 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick49 Rnd2 Shavon Revel Jr.
Shavon Revel Jr. at pick 49 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick95 Rnd3 Deontae Lawson
A tidy little value on Deontae Lawson in slot 95, a step better than break-even. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick113 Rnd4 Sebastian Castro
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 113 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130 Rnd4 Drew Allar
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Drew Allar in the 130th pick, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in Round 5, Pick 7 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick182 Rnd6 Tonka Hemingway
They went early on Tonka Hemingway in pick No. 182, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick208 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
They barely believed it either: Antwane Wells Jr. still on the board at No. 208. It fills a real need, too.
Pick221 Rnd7 Brennan Presley
They will replay Brennan Presley at the 221st pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
